This has caused me many problems in the recent cold snap (-8C ambient)
1) Dell PowerEdge servers don't differentiate between ambient temp alarms that are too high vs. too low (just out of range)
2) The fan curve doesn't handle negative temperatures well (the fans ramp up to 100%, guaranteeing the temperature remains sub-zero as much as possible)
3) Server rack organisation is critical to keeping mostly idle servers from getting anywhere near dew point and in condensation territory (perhaps contrary to popular convention? the hot servers being at the bottom manage to keep the top ones mostly idling warm)
